can u run the super long drivers axle with the 4wd trannies?

I was about to jack someones thread to ask this question but i figured i'd ask on my own. im not doing it but i just wanted to know if anyone has ever taken out there halfshaft and tried to put in a regular civic axle (the super long drivers side one) again i dont plan on doing this im just wondering if worst case scenerio someone had to run that long axle will it work?

    :? Don't know if this helps,but later years(some where between '92-'96) Honda replaced the VC with a non-clutching unit.Turning the center shafts basically into a 3 piece driveshaft.One of the reasons for this is it was cheaper than making a super long shaft.
