If you can help me fix this I will paypal you $10 when i get paid on 21st/ d15b*video

Guys I'm sorry if thats a bad title but I REALLY want to fix this. And it could be something simple but you be the judge

Fuel pump primes and check engine light pops on and off like normal during POST? (Is that what its called? kinda like a PC)

Car roughly starts idles high (on its own) and then rpms drop all the way and its fighting to stay alive. thats on the very first cold start. on the next it sometimes does the same thing(idle high then drop) and then when rpms drop it just dies instead of fighting back.

2 things id also like to point out is that fuse #12(Radio, interior light, cig lighter) was blown. I did check fuses

and trying to press gas pedal only kills it faster...

Absolute cold start. 1st start after more than 48hrs sitting

Once I get this fixed I will update this part of this thread with a fix and a after video! =]

Engine is a JDM D15B Vtec with a P32 Intake manifold, 4-1 Header, test pipe, to a regular muffler.

p28 ECU that I believe is chipped. also it has a hack wiring set up where vtec is enabled by turning on headlights (so stupid....=/)

Vtec solenoid appears to have oil leaking from it on the bottom and so is the dizzy. not crazy amounts but there is oil deposits

Well i would guess your problems are somewhere in there. Hack wiring, unknown tune.
Have you messed with the timing by twisting the dizzy forward or back? One way will make the RPMs go up and the other down.
It could be a lot of things but check for vacuum leaks, your IACV could be clogged up.

    edit*
A few other things my friend said to try:
I would tell him to try another ecu, a p28 vtec or a p06 non vtec. He also should undo the vtec wiring to the head, and just leave it undone tell he can get the car to run right. other then that timing could be it.

I'm not an expert but just some basic things I've come across troubleshooting my cars.

Hey I really appreciate the input. Today after work I undid the vtec wiring, and took out a mess of wires that weren't being used. Tried to start it and it did the same thing except it didnt start not even for a second. Threw cel codes, checked them and it was 21-Vtec pressure something and 41- O2 sensor. blah nothing else.

I have to ask around to see if any of my buddies have crx/civic si ecu sitting around or a virgin p28. Once I figure out whats going on i'll get the ecu flashed to p08 specs as the jdm d15b deserves.

I was checking out the wiring and it looked pretty good. although.... I did find the IACV plug cables to be touching with bare solder just sticking out ::SLAPSHEAD::. Undid that mess and tried to start it again but same result.

I'll post results with a different ecu.

*edit I'll try the Dizzy thing. I've never tried it before but ill look into it. I'm just not completely knowledgeable when it comes to timing and I'm afraid I might eff things up internally but messing with timing.

    Thanks man!
  • Ya can't really hurt much by twisting the dizzy back and forth, It will only go to so far each way. You loosen the top and bottom bolts and twist it either way. In simple terms One direction with make the rpms drop and the other way they will go up.
