converting my 88 wagon from auto to manual ecu questions for tranny

so far I have wagon pedals, clutch cable and shift linkage all from a 91 fwd wagon. just need tranny and ecu

I am most likely going to go with a d16a6 crx si tranny but if not that , then with a
s20 hydro tranny from a ej1 with a conversion from cable to hydro. at the junkyard right now theyre having a 50% sale on everything and i can get the pm5 ecu from the wagon i took parts from but would that work with anything other than a 91 MT wagon transmission? id like something more close ratio than d15b2 tranny

i know i have to fabricate a mount for the clutch pedal i took a pic of how it looks on donor wagon ill post up later in addition to the other wagon that was converted on here

thanks everyone!

  • yes the ecu from a manual wagon will work for any 88-91 civic manual transmission.
  • just make sure the ecu is the same one for your type of engine. i did the swap from auto to manual in my rt and used the manual pm6 to run my d16a6. Also its easiest to drop the steering column, and fuse box for the pedal swap. And youll need to run a jumper wire for the nuetral switch on one of the plugs from the old auto shifter. I can't remeber which plug but i do believe its the one with two thick wires
