finally got a wagon

ok so i have been looking for a wagon for a few months but couldn't find any "good" deals. well i found a few but they were gone before i could get to them. a few weeks ago a friend tells me that his friends neighbor has a wagon and wants to sell it, so i tell him to tell them i want it. well his friend never called him back. so a friend of mine went and knocked and the guy said yeah he's selling it so i left work and picked it up.

the wagon had a few problems with it like the driver fender, bumper support was bent, rear driver door wouldn't open and the best of all the key wouldn't stay in the "on" position so the whole way home i had to hold it in a certain position. i went to the wrecking yard and got a fender, lucked out because it was the same color. ttok the bumper off and bent it back to normal, took the door panel off and got the door open, guess the outside handle is broken and a piece was blocking the bar from being pulled all the way. i shoudl be getting a new ignition switch today.

here are some pics of it.

yeah at the wrecking yard i didn't think it was the same but after looking at it for awhile i figured screw it i need one anyways and when i got home it matched pretty good. only bad thing is that the roof clear coat is messed up pretty bad. tried to use soem rubbign compound on it but it didn't work. probly have to wet sand a little just to get the whit elook of and wait for paint. i want to paint it white, already have the paint but just need to find soem time to do some body work and spray it.

you bring the wagon to the birthday party? you find any springs for it yet?
  • jeffsciv23jeffsciv23 New Wagonist
yeah might bring it but that damn heat shield is annoying as hell. i tired to take it off but i think i'm gonna need some sort of cutting tool because a few bolts are stuck.
nope haven't found any springs yet, probly just gonna get the ebay ones. but i found soem b series mounts that were shipped out yesterday :D
  • the ebay adjustables are nice. I have them on the front (dont ask) of my wagon and they are easy to adjust. Just make sure you either take the dust shield off or its out of the way when you lower it or it might catch on the top of the adjuster.

finally got some coilovers and put them on yesterday with the help of some guys here. ran into some problems with the rear LCA bolt siezeing in the bushing so we had to improvise  .

    here are some pics

    lift1.JPG

needed a new bushing since the old one had half a bolt stuck in it so we grabbed a lug nut and hacked the end off

    LCA1.JPG

then wrapped it in electrical tape to give it a snugger fit
