temp gauge quite working

my temp gauge quite working today. i found a little hole in one of the hoses, my car was leaking antifreeze for a couple of days so i fixed the hose and now the temp gauge wont work. i even changed the thermostat thinking that it would make the thing work but i was wrong. the fan turns on after awhile but not sure how hot it's actually getting.

any experiences/solutions?

    fixed the prob, my buddy had an engine in his garage and he wasn't going to use it anymore so i took the temp. sending unit and changed it. works good again.

    mine is out too. how did you figure it was the sender and not the actual gauge cluster?

    look under the distributor, there should be a round female connector . plug it up . to the male connecter on the head right in that area . u cabt miss it.
