Finally got a Wagon!

Well after a few months of searching I found two Wagon's locally....(I owned a 2wd Wagon years ago which I paid $650 in really good shape, even on HX wheels..Here is the new one). One is a parts car pretty much that I have yet to pick up because I need rear trailing arms since I dont want to pay the tow. The other is my present build which I picked up last night. Got her for $600 it wasn't running, owners (tweaker couple) said it just stopped running blah blah blah.. I got her home and cleaned it up since it's been sitting. It has a 0bd1 Multi point conversion, however not the cleanest. It also does have an Auto to manual swap which looks a bit rough. Overall I feel like I overpaid but these things are getting rare locally and the Body was in really good shape everything else can be addressed.

Plans for Now:
-Replace long block since I got it running and it knocks pretty bad.
-Clean up the wiring under the hood and under the steering wheel.
-Paint and body work.
-Wheels.

Looks like a good deal to me man, I wish i could find me another wagon at least its already obd1. :)
  • ^true, the cabin wiring is a mess though, it is converted.... However its not the cleanest, so I'm debating on redoing it or just cleaning it up a little since it works.
  • Today's project was to pull the old z6 it came with since it was knocking already so I got off work at 8 AM and picked up my rolling dolly from my parents house right after and got to work about 10 AM, since I dont own a cherry picker I did it the ole fashion way. Put her up in space ship mode and got to work!

Sorry about the shitty pics, I did not notice my settings were messed with on my camera until I uploaded them onto my laptop.

Decided to spray the bay since I want to eventually change the color of the entire wagon itself.

  • Thanks guys.

Well I picked up a mini me the other day and threw it in right away because im so anxious to drive this thing already. However I got it all in with the hacked up wiring and it doesnt want to turn over, just clicks when I try and crank it. I think the battery cables are crap so I am going to swap those out tomorrow see if that does anything. As you can see i made sure I had good grounds. haha

I guess you are going to have to revisit that wiring anyway.

Funny thing is I've always heard stories but never has a problem myself. Guess there's a first for everything though.
  • Started getting the wiring situation worked out, just went ahead and re-soldered a bunch of connections to try and clean it up a bit. I came across something very annoying, when the key is in the little clicking noise always clicks no matter what position it is in and it is very annoying AND... When the car is on it clicks away as well, different tone though i think that one is from the seat belts not being buckled up since it has those re-tracking seat belts... I tried tracking down the annoying noise but no luck. If anyone can chime in I will make a post in the proper section for some more help.
  • Looks like a hard project, but will be rewarding
