Car won't start need help

1.5 ef1.5 ef Band Wagon
in Electronics, Fueling & Air Conditioning
It's an 89 civic wagon rt4wd that I'm having this problem with, when I turn the key twice the lights in the cluster don't turn on but if I hold the key to turn the car on the lights come on and as soon as I release the key they shut off, and when I try to start the car it starts but dies right away, please help, thanks

    Might need a new ignition switch , the contacts inside the switch are probaly wore out.

    X2 I just had to replace the one on my dads wagon, Its easy

    Thanks guys for the help, I took the switch apart and the contacts were worned out, replaced it and now it works perfect
