Runs good some days

I have a bone stock 85 model with all the smog stuff still intact an some days I can start up and ideals runs good bit sometimes its hell just to get out of the drive way. Is it possible I have a vacuum leak or do you think the chock is staying open. If it could be either how can I trouble shoot and determine which it is?

    Any help would be great and also want to say that yesterday it ran great all day then gave it a bath and once again it started acting up again. I don't want to sound like moisture is causing the problem because its ran bad when moisture wasn't present to.

    I'm not sure what a "chock" is.
    You can sometimes hear a vacuum leak. Try gently wiggling or tugging on the suspected hoses with the engine running.
    Another trick is to carefully spray WD40 or somesuch on the suspected leak. The engine will often change speed when you hit the leak.
