#14 Fuse goes out

OK so my # 14 fuse keeps going out. It's the ol Alternator Selenoid Pump fuse. The engine just turns and turns and won't start. I don't think it's the fuel pump. If I disconnect the Alternator plug and replace the fuse then the engine starts up no problems.

UPDATE: I put in an OBD1 alternator and no blown fuse #14. So I guess it was my alternator shorting out. Also the battery light wouldn't light up on the dash and now it does. No clue why. I wish I could use the OBD1 alternator with but it has a different pully/belt that is not interchangeable withtthe original. So now I have to find a replacement or rebuild the broken part.

So I have an alternator that came with the Z6. The A6 is 3 ribs and the Z6 is 4 rib. I have the A6 crank on to run my Power steering. I can't just switch the pulleys because one is 15 mm ID and one is 17mm ID (I think).

About 2 am I had an epiphany. If I have a 3 rib belt why can't it fit on a 4 rib pulley? So If it works great I didn't have to buy a new alternator yet. If not i'll let you know how long it lasted.

That works! Been there and done that.. So long as the groves line up.. or just switch the pulleys.
