205/60R15 already rubs some in front. Don't think I'll go taller.

I'll have to look at my t bracket. I never noticed any wear in the billion times I've pulled my transmission. Have you broken the motor in yet?
  • bam-bambam-bam Council Member
I haven't broken it yet! I beat on it from the start. It's a used motor, I need to know if it's going to hang together.
There's really nothing to break in. Let's just say the fuel cut works lol.
  • 3rd4ce3rd4ce Council Member
LoL so is that with the new fuel pump or would it cut out the same ..??

the BFH seems to be the most used tool in your box i think ....

Sometimes ol' Martillo Grande es mi amigo 8)

Chip, fuel cut is when the ECU shuts you down because you disregarded the redline! In this case the recommended limit is 6800 RPM. At 7200 it lets off the gas for you, since you weren't smart enough to do it yourself... also called rev limiter.

Funny story: we had a new GMC pickup back in '95, and it would shut you down at 100 mph. Common, at least for GMs in those years. My buddy's '01 was the same.

Anyway, we were headed back home from Texas in pebbleswagon a few years back. I was traveling along in the left lane of 20, doing maybe 75 and passing a long line of trucks. this goober in a GM pickup gets right up on my ass and starts flashing lights and stuff.

I just put 'er up past 100 and dropped the dumbass. Nobody suspects the wagon.

ohhh thats what happens when Scrappy bogs down ..
man thats to funny the guy must not of know his GM truck would cut off like that ... i would of cried laughing when his lights got further back ....

so im guessing the Cnote is all prepped and ready for the trip ....??
i saw the metal whittling you did on the parts the engine mounts to that relieved the buzz ....

She's mostly ready. I'll change the fuel pump and rear calipers this weekend.

Last night I installed the modded ECU and reset timing and idle bleed. Along with a tank of 93, it's an eye-opener!
  • bam-bambam-bam Council Member
Well, i got the Walbro installed with a little added drama. Nothing like a good shop fire to get the ol' juices flowing!

Today I'll do the rear brakes, remove the rear seats, swap out the head unit for a usb one, etc.

here's a shot right after I put out the fire

of course, my buddy couldn't resist

You did not use a lighter to see if there was any gas in the tank did you?
  • bam-bambam-bam Council Member
I'm lucky to be alive to joke about it. That was a close one.
