Guage clusters to swap or not to swap..What do you know?

Im just wondering as to what others have been doing in reguards to swaping out their Guage clusters once they do a engine swap. Or are you staying stock? As for me, im in the planning stages of doing a USDM B18C1 swap in my 89' (Have motor just gathering parts and info). If you have any specific info let me know otherwise knoledge based comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I have GSR Cluster but Im not seeing how this is gonna work.... :?

You'll need the plugs for the back of your gsr cluster, then basically find a thread somewhere about swapping any cluster into an EF, its basically all the same. You'll need the electronic VSS and then run the wires to the cluster and ecu.

So pigtails specific to your cluster, then the vss for whatever obd you're running, and wires. And perhaps a lot of time and patience and a shop manual! Maybe 2...

So far the issue with swaping the cluster is the Hood/Bezel that will accomidate the GSR cluster. I found some threads on using a 90-91' cluster hood but in comparison it doesnt look like a match with a 88-89' Dash. The search continues and Im not apposed to a diffrent Cluster all together. YOUR Comments and ideas are welcome.

  • I am also looking to do a cluster swap(been having problems with stock cluster). I found a couple of threads that most of the info should work for a wagon. http://www.tuner-junction.com/TJForum/h ... 1-crx.html and http://hondacrx881.tripod.com/gsrclusterswap.html I am collecting the parts to do the ek swap currently.

The gauge cluster is the same among all Ed/Ef on regards to size and shape...the Crx only looks different because the bezel is different for 90-91...if your looking for a high rev tach that really "fits" the look of your wagon search for European vti clusters... It's basically a Jdm sir cluster but in mph rather then kilometers

Yeah that's a sweet cluster. The 9K redline and the mph scale are nice. I found a pic of one:
