Installing Cruise Control for a 90 sedan into a 91 FWD wagon

I found an 90 sedan with intact factory cruise control.

How difficult, and are there any tips to installing it into my 91 wagon?

Do I need to use the steering wheel or possibly the whole column to bring over the controls?

I am inexperienced with this aspect of mechanics. Is there any wiring that goes through the ECU, and if so would my ZDYNE ECU be a problem?

The only way they will sell it to me is if I buy the whole column for $70 which is very reasonable.

Thanks in advance for any help.

the cruise control computer is behind and below the stereo u will need it as well. theres a member on here that was doing this but i dont know how it ever turned out.... If u have the time and patience I would suggest swapping the entire harness into your car then u get a true MPFI swap, cruise, PW, PDL, and no having to spice it all into your cars wiring.... thats how i planned to do it but i sold the stuff then the car off. Im planning on getting a full pw, pl, pm, ac and cruise control swap from a sedan as well. I'll let you know how it goes if I get to it first.

Um, your going to have a good time with that.. I think that Seekerone already in stalled a Sedan harness, you might want to check with him and see.. I know you already have the PW. If he did, then you are only missing a few parts. No, it doesn't go through your ECU. And, you can definitely do it.

Are you trying to have a SC Wagon with PW, PL, PS & Cruise? Sweet!

Dam, I really wish I had bought it when I had the chance.

I drive 30 miles each way to work and cruise would be nice. It keeps me out of trouble on the interstates. With the torque this little car has the cruise would be excellent, even in 5th gear uphill.

I just called the junk yard to try to buy the whole donor car but they won't sell. I would much rather have the cars side by side to do the swapping of parts. I didn't note whether the car had power mirrors. If so I may try and do those as well.

Seekerone did do the power windows and locks. I'm not sure what all he did with the harness and the implications towards the cruise function.

I plan to try and pull this off. I hope to make contact with seekerone (BJ) to get some background info on the harness.

    Seekerone is Steve
    1991KA8 is BJ

Either should know. But, Steve did the power windows and locks & SC :)
