Loud Squeel from DS Dash

I did a search and couldn't come up with anything. I have a very loud high pitched "squeel" that is coming from the DS dash near the instrument panel (I believe). It seems to vary with speed or engine load. Anybody experienced this before? Thanks.

    Mine did this too and then stopped. Someone told me it was the speedo cable.

    Probably speedo cable. Unhook it from the trans and see if the racket subsides.

    I'm sure that is what it is. It had been packed with grease where it mates to the instrument cluster. I assume it had been squeeling for awhile and someone tried to lube it up to stop it. I'll replace it with my swap. Thanks.
