I have a honda civic wagon 1988, 1.6 all wheel drive. My car starts up with no problem. When it warms up I hit the accelerator and it sucks up air and it shuts off. I crank it and it gets flooded with gas and it wont start. I have changed the oxigen sensor, spark plugs, the wires, the valve cover gasket and seals and I'm still having the same problem. Please help!!!

Mine would start almost every time and progressively noticed at times, it would not start in the morning or re-start while out running errands. I checked the relay before and it all looked good. But I’m learning that even thought the factory solder may look in-tack, that it may pull away just enough to lose contact.
Anyways, within like a 2-3 week timeframe, I started to notice after warm-up and luckily it only happened on the streets and not the highway, I would be at a light and when it turned green, I would try and drive off and the car would sputter and die immediately. I would have to wait a few minutes before it would start up again and off I when with no problems.
The weather was getting on the colder side during these events and felt that had something to do with it, I don’t know. Anyways, I’ve since changed out the main fuel relay (mid-January). The weather has been warming up and I haven’t had this issue happen since so hopefully this corrected it.
Check your relay and see if that could be the issue.
