oxygen sensor

about 3 months ago i upgraded my exhuast on my wagon to a 2 1/2 mandrel bent, with a carsound cat, and a cherry bomb turbo muffler. yesterday the check engine light on my wagon went on. it is a 91, could it be from the stock o2 sensor having more flow in the exhuast then usual. If so is there a simulator o2 sensor that can be installed so it wont keep burning out the OEM one?

Pull the Code & you'll have the answer.

Under the carpet in the passenger footwell should be a gold plate (ECU cover)... In the centre of the plate is an L.E.D light... it should blink once quickly, have a long pause and then blink again a number of times... Start counting after the first short blink and let us know what you come up with.
Remember, keep counting because there could be more than one code (each seperated by one quick blink)...

Oh and welcome to the board! :D
  • thanks for the help, it ended up being the o2, got a new one installed today, no more check engine light, ahh
  • Do you have to actually rip up the carpet to find the ECU cover?
