did you have to heat up the fenders at all when you did it? I've never read up on that trick, but you just lower the car down with the phonebook in position on the wheels and it stretches out the fenders? but you started small then increased the size of book to get greater gap
Sounds like you took your time and did it right. I will need to do that to mine when I get wheels, I am undecided at the moment but will hopefully have ordered some by bune
I got a grey wagon too, same color fender and hood lol.
I hate that I can't find a good enough
Matching color to repaint them though.
The light grey stands out to much.
This a great work in progress!!! and I had never heard of the phone book trick but is one to keep in mind and maybe have it as a sticky if is not already there...
If you have bigger napa's around sometimes they will have paint shops and will mix colors and stuff. Cheap harbor freight HVLP (gravity feed) spray gun and a bit of practice and you'll have a much better result than a rattle can.
Did you remove the lock rings on the rear suspension? There should be 3 rings, 1 that the spring sits on and 2 that keep the lower mount and spring perch in place. If you take those out you can go lower

@dpt47z, what is the offset on the DR-54's, +15?
