I finally have over half of the EF's I want in my lifetime!

Hello all fellow wagon lovers!! Allow myself to introduce myself and the story of my wagon!!

on October 28th i finally had the opportunity to buy an EF Wagon!!! i've pretty much been obsessing over wanting one for the past 2 years.

My story goes like this: I work in construction and had a job in Redondo Beach, CA at the Northrop Grumman that is located there. I build clean rooms and we were installing a grid system and some hepa filters 84 feet above the ground on a suspended platform. So it was safe and dangerous at the same time. Well, on one of the first days we had to go clear across the NG campus to get our I.D. pictures taken and whatnot and on the walk back i noticed a brown Ef wagon in a lot. I thought to myself as well as letting my co-workers know, "oh crap! there's an EF wagon and its 4WD!" They didn't care too much about my claim. lol

So the next week, as i walked to the jobsite, i noticed the wagon had moved to a much closer parking lot and was in plain view! so i walked over and checked it out. clean body, one rust spot, a few dents, 100% RT4WD and it looked like a virgin! I couldnt resist, on my walk back to my car at the end of the day, i put a note under the wiper blade. it read, "Hello! if you are considering selling this car any time soon, i'd like to be given the opportunity to buy it from you. It will be going to a good home and will be very well taken care of." LMFAO! consequently, the dude called me back! we met after work later that week, went over what was wrong with it, it over heated...that was it! he offered to sell it to me for a thousand bucks! The max i was willing to spend was 1200 so he low balled himself! being the nice guy i am, i accepted the offer! well, the rest is history!

I have big plans for it, hoping to hit MRM3 status with it eventually as i have 2 other ef's that have priority at the moment. my stable of cars are: an 89 crx si, 90 hatchback si and a 94 civic LX. So yup! im a honda lover and 4 cars deep! my fiance says im crazy and calls the wagon ugly! she'll see its potential eventually! So enough of my blabbing! here's the only picture i have right now: i'll post progress as it comes along!!

there she is! all i have to do is change the head gasket at it should be ready for this winter and some trips up to the snow with my fiance and our husky! woo-hoo! i cant wait!

  • Just wondering why there seem to be so many nice wagons for sale on the west coast? Maybe something or lack of something in the air and or in the water? Most of the wagons on the market in and around Atlanta look as if Sherman used them to run Georgia into the ground. Guess 4WD would have helped.
Anyway, welcome to the ever growing family and good luck with your build.
  • congrats and she is a keeper.

Thanks guys! I consider myself lucky with this one. I just waited and waited til i found this one and im even more lucky the owner was willing to sell it! I pretty much have never had anyone answer a note i've left on the windshield. Like my mom said...it was meant to be!
