New member from Ohio

Hey guys,

New Wagonist here. I picked up an 89 Wagovan about 3 months ago with 208,000 miles on the clock from it's original owner. The ad posted on craigslist for it was pictureless, extremely vague and stated it was an 87. Round' these rust-thriving parts Wagons are extremely hard to come by, so I decided that until I could find an EE magically for sale around here I would be happy owning a it's predecessor to bop around town in. I drive roughly 2 hours away with no address and without contacting the owner just to see if I could get a glimpse of it. (I was bored...obviously).

I caught a glimpse of it... it wasn't an 87, but an 89. 8) The owner wanted 700$ for it, and I talked them down to 500$. (I was feeling pretty good about my haggling skills until when signing the title over to me the owner stated "psh, my husband said he would have given it up for 350$....what a kick in the crotch that was.)

Towed it home. Midwest rust, cracked windshield, seized alternator and obviously blown rings in it's B2. (It looked like a magic show everytime I started the engine.)

Long story short.

Current mods;

D16A8 Engine. 8)
SI cable trans w/ Exedy stage 1 clutch
CRX struts w/ Ksport springs
Accord lip
(Soon to be) Phone Dials.

Everything else is stock. (I've only had it for a couple of months, gimmie some credit.)

Just wanted to introduce myself. I've lurked here since I've brought her home, and I figured it was time for me to be a part of the community.
I'm new to Wagons, but not new to classic Hondas. (Proud owner of a beautiful 1983 CB1100F and a 1982 CB900F.) So I've come to realize I'm going to need all the information and support I can get.

  • It's pretty clean for being and Ohio car.

    I also am from Ohio (cincy area), I picked one up for the same price with loads of rust and a busted rear windshield, so you got a hell of a deal none the less.
