Interior fan not woking (89)

It's just that. All other interior electricals work. The interior fan WAS working untill I had "Crappy Tire" replace my radiator and my AC/altenator belts. Now my interior fan is dead. I've checked all the fuses and everything SEEMS to be in order there. I have no idea where any of the wireing for the fan is located and I'm thinking perhaps something got disconnected or bumped when they did the rad/belts. Any ideas?

  • Sometimes fans just go out. Test for power and ground at the fan connector. If u have both, u need a fan.
  • Check the resistor, behind the glove box.
take out the glove box, then look in the new open space you will see the resistor you cant miss it it has 2 phillips screws holding it in and a plug to it. its an old car they will fail. common symptom is the fan only works on speed 1&2 or 3&4 but sometimes they all together go out.
rockauto has the resistor for 25$ new. or salvage yard but then your buying another old one.
I feel your pain but thats the best advise

I hate when i say they fail heres the scoop---- "its a resistor that has coiled wire with ceramic over it, the resistor becomes brittle and breaks causing a fan speed not to work, sometimes they both break = fan no go." good luck !
    keep us posted

the power supply you would be checking from above, if not mistaken is the plug to this resistor.

Check the resistor, behind the glove box.
The resistor is only for fan position 1 to 3, it should still be working on position 4!
