I got the idea for my ef9 front bumper of the picture of the black ( I think japanese) wagon, but you're car gave me the push to really go for it..
It will probably never reach the same level, but oh well.

Thats the plan for now Stephen. God willing. Keep us posted on the 2009 date.
Hey mang, did you have the little stripe gap filled on your SiR bumper? I just noticed that. How is it filled if you dont mind me asking?
Also curious since your changing handles and whatnot...do you plan on shaving the keyholes?
As always, love the ride!
Good eye Shenrie. I had the body shop fill the stripe gap on the EF9 bumper to compliment the rest of the moldings on the wagon. I dont plan on putting the stripe. I dont know exactly what they used. I was happy with the clean result tho.
I shaved all the keyholes on my wagon the first time it went to paint. I used rear door handles in the front doors for the smooth keyless look.
See I thought I saw that you had those shaved. I just did the same thing with my hatch the other day. Waaaaaaaay easier on ef's than my old db1. Like 100% easier, lol.
Ya the bumper matches up really nicley. Id be curious to know how they did it. Should have shaved the plate holes too, but not sure how much of a pita it is.
I hate how the jdm bumpers all have ugly plate mounting spots vs the usdm versions. The JDM ITR plate spot almost ruins the whole front bumper for me.
Was just curious what was used as Bondo dosnet hold all that well on a bumper that flexs as much as they do.
Oh and a sidenote JDM bumper supports are worthless (just found this out today...even though I allready assumed just by looking at them, lol). Curious what support did you use for your front bumper?

I'll try to find out from the body shop wat they used. They know I dont like Bondo so we'll see wat he says. I was going to shave the lic plate holes but decided to keep them in the end.
As far as the bumper support... You have to use the EF9 bumper support. I thought the same thing about it when I first saw it. But it is what keeps the bumper cover straight and aligned properly. Notice how the EF9 bumper has a big grill. The USDM bumper support will have to be severly hacked to even consider using it on the EF9 bumper. Trust me. I tried.
It definately not a straight bolt on. The EF9 bumper support was slightly modified not to mentioned that you have to use the Wagon filler piece. (under the hood/headlights)

there is lots of other types of fillers on the market for all kinds of use. there are several for use on urethanes and other types of flexible plastics.
but people always assume that because the bumper is soft, that its just flexing all the time. this is not true at all. the only real time a bumper should flex, is when removing or replacing the bumper.
if something hits the bumper hard enough to make it flex... then there is going to be a lot more damage to worry about, than just whatever filler is in the little stripe gap.
This makes me sad. I always loved the way the two wings looked on the back of your cars. If you both loose the wings, then what am I going to drool over?

i've been wanting to see that forever!

Hope that helps.
