Maybe making drop forks?

Has anyone made dropforks successfully? Ya know, cutting an oem one and rewelding it so you can go lower without sacrificing shock travel.
The only real concerns I've come up with is geometry and strength.
I think it would work with some extra plate welded on to reinforce the welds.
any thoughts?

Have you thought about trimming the brake line bracket on the strut instead?
This is an ancient honda-tech thread discussing it and the authors do know their stuff

you have to read down a bit to get the the strut modifying part
And it was also so when i start working (aka.. tomorrow) and start having a legitimate income i could buy 1 piece coilovers and keep the struts from being maxed out too bad.
Dang, guess the only option is the super rare impossible to find already made drop forks, or have a company custom cast some. Which might be a bit difficult. Or find a machine shop to make some.
