88 RT4wd Wagonigabko build
Wagonigabko2010
Band Wagon
First i got my self a 90 wagon FWD with clean body and interior. It runs but the engine needs to be replalce asap. Did my very first swap on that car and learn a lot from it. Did a DPFI to a MPFI with mini me VTEC set up on that car and i was happy seeing it drive again. Although i have that wagon and put some time and cash already in it my eyes is really set on the RT4wd wagon. I've been waiting on a chance to get one and always checking on CL for a sweet deal : ) Yeah right months of months of wait and i was about to give up on the dream. And then once upon a time Last 2010 of November I did come across a dude in CL with a RT wagon with a tranny and driveshaft problem and he finally throw the towel and give up on it. YahOOOOO.!!! Called him asap locked on the deal and snag it in a heartbeat muhahaha!!! Now i have a few wago's to play with but man things are getting expensive : ( i ditch my 90 got my money back and started focusing on my 88 build. With this build i just want this car to be in OEM specs on the looks and pack a turbo or Vtec punch inside the hood. Still want that better MPG so better tune it right and not so much on the HP. Aaahh maybe a little : ) I'm really looking forward to do a D-series swap again on this project and enjoy it that way. Got lots of thing's to do in my build list but time is not enough and parts are in pending mode lol!!! So what ever i can mod or fabricate or save a part that's what I'm doing now. I did got lucky getting a RT4wd but the body inside and out on the 88 can't compare to my 90. The 90 is really clean and the 88 is the total opposite of it LOL!!!
I guess it's not as bad and i think with a little TLC i can really clean up the inside and make it look Wow!!! It took me while scoring a RT tranny. Post a tranny wanted list in CL and a guy hit me up with one, he said it's his back up and in need of money i guess. I was a bit lost when he said he got the 88 tranny and my clutch disc dont fit hmm??? Anyhow i bought a new clutch kit and start with the build. I bought the car lowered already with who knows lowering kit it has but it rides ok for now. The seller did give me his rear fog but only one. I did start ordering parts and the rest is YA kNOW..!!!!!

Good luck on the build and keep us updated
Yes.... How?
A friend had a 4 door EK an installed a kit in his. The moment I saw it BAMM??? " light bulb lit up" why can't I use that hmm??? Took some measurements and folks we have a donor!!! Soon as I got home from work I ordered the kit. 4 days later Yesss!!! The kit is in my hands muhahaha!!! Open the box and I was happy to see it glow in my face and bonus part is it comes complete with all the wiring etc. Now it's time to get busy.
The build time in this project took me at least roughly 2 hours.
First step: Remove bumper assembly and cut the cut outs where the foggies goes. That's easy because the pattern is there already and all you have to do is cut it. Don't have to measure if your off or what so ever just cut it. It took me 10mins to take the bumper out and 15mins to do the cut outs on each side.
Second step: Run the wirings. It's a pretty simple electrical layout but the challenge is fishing the wire through the fire wall going inside the car. That took me 30mins. I've used same hole for the alarm system wiring and that save me tons of headache fishing for the wires. Once I got that all figured out I ran the wires and tucked it as hidden as I can secured it with zipties mounted the relay to the firewall, install fog switch and bolted my grounds. I did relocate the 2 horns but that didn't take much to relocate. Bolted that aside and done.
Third step: This is the first time I took out the foggies out of the package and scratch my head. They are a bit long. They do fit in the cut outs real good but Man!! During the test fit when the bumper is all mounted and everything the foggies sticks way far out off the bumper and won't look flush for a smooth look. That didn't stop me tho, so what I did is I took out the foggies out of it's mounting assembly brackets and mod that. I have no choice but to cut the level adjuster mechanism on the foggies mount. WhY?? because that's what making it very bulky and causing the problem. After cutting that I rebend some of the brackets to fit it where i want it and used a self tap screw to hold the assembly together. The mods on the mount bracket took me at least 30mins. Once I got one side figured out the other side was a breeze. That took me 1 hour to fab and mount everything back. The mods was a success and it's nice very solid doesn't shake at all. I will back this up with some pics soon as I can load it..
Do her some justice with some good pics! Keep the progress comin!
Totally on my list of upcoming mods.
I'm going to have to do that on mine if I can find a pair...
