Extended Top Hats on Full Body Coilovers?

Here's a question that I couldn't find an answer for, probably because its so dumb.

I ordered some godspeed rs coilovers... Will I need to get extended top hats or are they not required with full coilovers?

    Should not need them. Tophats are mainly for running stock struts that are running lower than stock height.

    It wouldn't hurt to add them though.
    Most coilovers use an adustable tubular design so the spring doesn't actually come down at all. The shock body does. You can try to add the top hats and if the shock rod has enough slack to accomodate them then I see no reason why it would hurt the overall performance of the setup.

    To elobarate a little bit, it depends upon how far you are going to lower your wagon.
    The extened top hats give you additonal travel before the shock will bottom out.
    If you plan to lower it a lot, the exteneded are worthwhile.

    i have PIC's on my wagon, and when i bought them they came with about 2" extended top hat and have the adjustable perches and ride real nice. i would recommend doing an extended top hat

    I want the same setup for my shuttle!

    They will work but no sense in getting them.
