Ticking noise from compressor, fluctuating idle and stutter

Whenever I turn on AC at stop light, car starts hiccup and idle fluctuates with series of clicking sound from ac compressor. Air is still cold. what is wrong? whole compressor or ac clutch or leak of freon? or others?
Thanks

I went to Pepboys, they checked it. It needs freon gas. or need to retrofit r12 to r134a.

I stopped by another garage today and he said it was already converted to Freeze 12. Also, ac line still cold so, he recommanded me to change rotor and cap first. However, misfire symptom happens only when turn on a/c at stop light. so I do not believe that misfire is caused by rotor and cap rather than a/c system. I may be wrong

    Any help please

It sounds like the AC is putting to great of a load on the engine when it engages which drives the idle down and then the ECU tried to correct to keep the car running. Does it just do when you turn the AC on at a light, or if you have it on and it comes to a stop does it do it.

    Thanks for reply

Actually, it does not only at stop having AC on but also when I turn on AC at stop. Also I feel less power with ac than before while I am driving. and I heard kind of metal scratching sound a few second from ac compressor at idle.
Might be bad alternator? not sure

I pulled out iridum spark plugs and replaced them to v power. Then, ticking noise and hiccup disappeared.

    Thanks
