A6 to Z6 swap: fast idle plug?

Swapping an obd1 ecu and D16z6 into the 89 RT4wd, the A6 motor has a fast idle valve with an electrical connector coming off of it.

The Z6 fast idle valve has no electrical connector or wires at all. I'm assuming the ecu doesn't need a signal from it, and it won't need one.

So do I just leave the plug on the harness unplugged? I'm going to call Rywire tomorrow (that's where i got my ECU conversion harness), but i thought maybe someone here would know.

THANKS!

    iirc a6 is obd0 z6 is obd1
  • yeah, I'm aware of that, I'm using the Rywire obd0 to obd1 jumper harness to convert to obd1.

Correct, there are no connectors on the FITV on the z6. It used a thermo valve that reacts to the temperature of the coolant to open and close. On both of my z6's I have blocked off the FITV because they were malfunctioning. The only side effect was that it took a little longer for the engine to reach normal operating temperature during the winter. Just leave it unplugged.
