Bumper advice

Hey guys,

got the new wagon, and the bumper seems to have been half assed painted (i think - its that half assed!) i put some autoglym restorer on which did make a big difference, but i was wondering what you would recommend. should i paint it? if so should i use the special plastic paint (its a fair bit more expensive here) any advice welcome

In my experience, painting is best. Getting that Autoglym goo off will be the big deal. Paint won't stick to that!

Clean, sand, clean the bumper, then clean again. Use autobody wax and grease remover.

I've had great results with SEM flexible filler/primer in the rattlecan. It comes in flat black and will show up areas that need attention before you topcoat. Follow with SEM flex bumper coat.

I used Dupli-Color products on my first attempt, and it hasn't stood the test of time.

    YMMV

thanks for your response - dam! i shouldnt have put that on!! I think it was originally unpainted, looks the standard black ABS rubber type.

picture below to help identify. Ill definitely invest in the plastic primer if you think its worth it
