anyone have any ideas?

when you turn the key it is turning the mechanizem and turning the rear cargo light on, same if you pull the interior lever.
But the darn thing wont open, tried pulling, tried pushing from the inside, no go.

its an 88 rt

any thoughts would be great.

sounds like the latch just doesnt open enough.

only thing i can suggest is you remove the cable connection from the interior lever and use a pair of pliers to pull on the cable.

also can see if you can get the interior trim off, then you can manually open it, i've done this at many junk yards.
