:x Mine was doing the same thing. Today I took the cable out and saw the cable was rubbing against the end of the housing at the tranny side. I grabbed used one from crx I have. I put tri flow lube in housing and moved cable till lube came out the other side reinstalled and it works a little to easy. It will take some getting used to but I am really happy with it.

I have never used any clutch bracket from any other vehicle for a 4th gen civic wagon so I could not you if it will work or not sorry. I do know the wagon has a little spacer at the end of the cable that I had to take off the stock cable and put on the crx cable for adjustment to work. like the bracket sits closer to the rt4wd trans than a stock crx dx. if this helps cool if not sorry :(

Ive been told the bracket assembly is wagon specific. Just take it out and weld it back together. You wont have to worry about it ever again. And let me tell ya, shifts like new. There should be a post i put up about 6 months ago with some pictures to give you an idea. Wasnt fun either. Plan on a sore back. If you can makr a little table to lay on, it will make your life easier.

The new brackets from the dealer have a reinforcement welded on so the clutch pedal portion won't bend and snap. I replaced mine with a factory part probably 10 years ago. It was much beefier looking than what came on the car. I checked hondapartsnow and they still list it as available for $81.46.

there listed but haven't been available in years. you will just get a refund. trust me, i tried to purchase one. used or repair are your options.
