87 real time 4wd

hey guys ,
I need some assistance, bought an 87 4wd does not work, I have looked all over for the lever to change it back and forth from 4 to 2, I have pictures of where it is supposed to be, could someone give me some starting points to look for. is it on the back of trans or where, and not to be stupid but how does the air breaher come off, I am used to working on fords, quite a differance, I appreciate your patience in ansrewing dumb questions

    Well I dont have any experience with the 84-87 wagons, but the lever for awd is right next to the where the speedo cable goes into the tranny on the 88-91 wagons. Mine was very dirty and very hard to see untill I had the tranny out. If you remove the airbox you should be able to see it a little better. Hopefully its in the same place, if not, sorry to waist your time.

    I'll check under the breather, just one problem , what is the secret to getting it off, I removed the bolt in the front, how many more hold it on.

    don't take it off, just loosen the front bolt and slide it over, then tighten the bolt again
