Fuel Pump Clicking?

When my 81 wagon it running there is a clicking noise coming from the rear end.
When at idle, I hear click, click. Then 5 seconds later another click, click. If I up the RPM's the duration between the double clicks becomes shorter, thus forcing the assumption of it being the fuel pump into my head.

I suppose my question is, does that mean my fuel pump is dying?

As of right now the car runs great, although the clicking is slightly annoying.

Any input is appriciated. :)
Thanks.

The fuel pump should only make a noise when you turn the key on. IMO If the click that you hear is that loud than I don't think it is your fuel pump. Check everything in the rear end and make sure nothing is loose and that all the bolts are torqued down properly.

Well, another thing is, I went and laid under the rear end of the car - and every time there is a click you can see fuel being pushed through the fuel filter,
    simultaneously, and consistently.
