so i picked up two MINT fenders, and they are already white!! SCORE!!!

i also picked up an ash tray, and two rear head rests! ohhh yeah! not to mention two blue speaker covers!! yes!!! now the interior is back together again :D

the parts wagon had good doors still too... i almost want them as well... just no money right now!

found the leak on the fuel tank.

welded up the crack and under coated it

    almost time for insurance!
  • danzdanz Wagonist
WELL the wagon is INSURED!!! and i managed to get the exhaust done.

i cut up the exhaust that was on there, added a few things here and there

saw a TRD celica gts exhaust lying in someones yard near my house, in a garbage pile. left him a note and some exedy racing stickers and scooped it up (never heard from him so he must not miss it!)

the muffler was 2.75" ID on one side 2.75" OD on the other... so i put the 2.5" going into the small side and slid a piece of 3" over the big side and this is what came out!

(i promise ill stop taking cell phone pics soon i swear)

heres the muffler/resonator thingy. TERD STYLE!! i mean TRD style.

    07122011266.JPG

the rest of the 2.5" that goes to the stock cat for now, which btw, is in great shape!

    07122011267.JPG

couldnt get the whole car in frame... but a side profile...

    07122011268.JPG

    zee tip.

verdict? its pretty loud being on an NA motor but the cat helps a lot. the auto makes it drone really bad. but it will sound sick when the cars boosted. :)

thats how scrappy, and my welfare wagon, roll! haha

trying to figure out suspension for this thing

its riding on chopped coils... like 5 coils of OEM chopped spring. its hazardous.

im thinking about taking some DA front springs, cutting them down a little and using them in the rear on OEM wagon shocks. and using some CRX lowering springs in the front on some OEM struts.

what you guys think? should be decent eh?
  • danzdanz Wagonist
ok so i have stock 2WD wagon springs in the front.

i have DA front springs in the rear, on wagon rear shocks.

its pretty damn close to level! sliiightly higher in the rear. and its pretty stiff.

so far, its a million times better than with the chopped ass coils.

looks good to me ....
u can now go over speed bumps  no dragging the exhaust ...
  • danzdanz Wagonist
yeah. its awesome. i actually didnt even slow down for some speed bumps the other day and i had a stupid grin on my face for some reason. feels nice not to be in a lowered car.
  • 3rd4ce3rd4ce Council Member
 lmao ... that sounds like BAM BAM....
him & just blast over them .... and watch n the mirror as the lowered cars slam on brakes and dodge and weave ..

    hows the motor build going..??
  • danzdanz Wagonist
the motor build is basically done.

bottom end is 100% together. i just need to get a cylinder head sorted out.

still havent decided what head i should use. those damn vtec heads flow so much better than the non vtec heads. but i kinda wana do another non vtec build. its hard to decide especially since i got a nice D15 non vtec colt cam.

then again i also have a delta 272-2 bisi 2.4 knockoff sitting around too...
  • I have the same rack for my wago. How do you like it

I have the same rack for my wago. How do you like it

well its ugly. its flimsy. it doesnt mount securely.

i feel as though if i look at it the wrong way, its going to fly away. haha

basically im too lazy to find a garbage can to put it in. hah.

seems like the last person to own this car sucked. the locks are all installed wrong. and today it dropped behind the door card and the car wont unlock. so when i get home from work ill fix that...

heres a few more pics of the wagon

turns out the lever for the lock was on the wrong side of the drum so i flipped it around and problem solved the lock works properly now.

sorry brother i cant link you to my noggin!

all i can say is if you dont feel comfortable doing it yourself, pay someone else to.

i welded it up myself in my backyard on a sunday afternoon.

clean it up, weld it up, paint it up!

as for the roof rack, yeah, its a cheap POS, and it hurts mileage. and anything that hurts mileage hurts speed. haha. cant wait to get something boosted in this car. shit, even just a 5 speed would be awesome.

little update for anyone following along....

i converted the wagon to manual over the weekend. it was super easy!

i used a sedan pedal assembly, and it worked perfect. everything lined up and everything bolted up. i dunno why everyone seems to think that you need wagon specific pedals...???... anyways

    heres some pics

  • danzdanz Wagonist
thanks, i cant wait to get something done about the engine bay on this car. what you see is how i got her minus the manual transmission. pretty rough shape...

she will be boosted soon and all will be well!

also i cant wait to get those speakers out of the car and get something that fits the doors so i can put the speaker covers on... soo hideous right now.

sooner the better, the motor is built just need to get the head sorted out then pick up some injectors and make some charge piping and get a front mount intercooler.

good call on the "guys" part it would have been a lot harder if raisa didnt do half the work!

put the wagon to good use last night...

  • danzdanz Wagonist
well it looks like the wagon is up for sale. picked up a truck and i dont have space for 6 cars... only parking for 3 vehicles without insurance and the rest need to be on the road. so somethings gotta go... :(
