Helpppp! wagon wont start now!

It cranks but will not stay on...I thought it wasn't main relay so I replaced it. It started so I can make it home then I went to start it again and it wont stay on... I replaced the spark plugs, head gasket and groments. Also changed the air filter...it still wont start!!! Im thinking it might be the fuel pump...but I don't know. Any help would be appreciated thanks

Wow, you changed the head gasket because it wouldn't start?

Yeah well I knew it needed to be done anyways because about a month ago I sealed the head gasket with some sealant gunk but it wasnt sealed correctly... and I had a neighbor look at my car andhe sounded pretty sure it was my fuel pump. Im having another mechanic look at it tomorrow morning.
  • Head gasket does not equal valve cover gasket...sounds like a coil or ignitor problem though. Both are inside the distributor.

so if the car starts but doesn't keep idle means that its the dizzy?

Ya if it starts but dies kinda sounds like a timing issue if not fuel.

Check plug to main relay make sure none of the pins are loose. Clean and then squirt dielectric gell in the plug before plugging it back. You should be able to hear your fuel pump before you go to crank it. If you hear your pump and still does not start then check dizzy.

I fixed it about a month or two ago. It was my fuel pump!
