Middle axle bolt. Ugh.

Yeah i need to replace my front axles completely, but i cant get that middle bold off, its the 36mm one i think. I tried my hardest and it wont budge, i lifted the little tabs but nothing, i even tried a 2x4 with a stanley breaker bar, and it broke my breaker bar.
I spray that bitch with PB Blaster everyday hoping it will loosen sooner or later but no luck.
Anybody got an idea what i can do?

    I had the same prob.with the 1/2 drive.What work was a
3/4drive breaker bar.Came loose easy as pie.
  • ingersoll rand titanium impact gun with 150psi compressor no problem
  • Do it with the car on the ground with the wheel on the car, and someone leaning on the brake pedal. Then slip a 4' piece of roll cage tubing over the 18" 1/2 drive breaker bar. Don't jerk the tubing/breaker bar. Just put even pressure (maybe your whole body weight) on the tubing. It'll come loose, unless you're a 120lb lightweight. With you pushing at the end of a 4' long piece of tubing, and weighing about 150 or more pounds, you're putting 600 ft/lbs of torque on that nut. It'll come loose.

I used this Micro-Torch from Harbor Freight. It took a while but did the trick. I picked up the 32mm socket while I was there.

3/4" is the only way to go. I dont even bother with my 1/2" socket set.
The added mass of the 3/4" drive just cracks it off easy as
