Winter driving

this is my first winter with the wagon. the problem is the temerature wont stay up when its cold out and its always cold out. itll stay warm driving around town slowly but when i go out on the highway the temperature guage drops all the way down. im not sure if thats bad for the motor but it also makes it so the heater doesnt get hot. now ive seen people cover the grills of there cars. can i cover half the radiator? i was thinking of covering the half where there is no fan. so at high speeds the freezing cold air wont cool the car down as much. any advise from you guys that live in the cold would help thanks.

try changing your thermostat, its probably stuck open.

Thermostat would be my first guess as well.

Another vote for thermostat, my gf's wagon did that last year.

Believe the oem ones are 195 degrees

OEM is 170
pick up a 195 if you live in an area that gets real cold if you like lots of heat

170 to 175 will be more then warm enuff.. You can get then from napa and there just fine, but I would say that it sticking open.. is your rad and overflow full?

^ what i got works well like 15 bux max with gasket b my guess as well or check your bottom hose to see if it gets warm then youll no
