automatic trans slips

i have a 1990 2wd automatic and when i come to a complete stop and the car is completly warm some times when i start off the transmission slips i was wonder if there is anything i can do to stop that or is the transmission gone i checked the fliud and it is full

    :? The first recommendation might help.The latter 1's are highly recommended.

    1)Honda uses a odder oil level check procedure.
    a)On level ground.
    b)Within 1 minute of turning off the engine(I don't know if they
    want the tranny warmed up or not.Check your owner's manual).
    c) pull dipstik,clean,reinsert fully & pull it out to check level.
    TIP:Never over or under fill a AT tranny.This can cause it to slip.
    2)AT fluid(ATF) needs to be replaced(about 2 qts) every 30,000 miles(48K km).I recommend going with a hi-po ATF(e.g. B&M) @ 1 of the speed shops.Less slippage & runs cooler.If u don't like the harsher shifts stay with OEM type oil.Your tranny will last longer w/the oil change.
    3)Add a trans cooler.90-95% of AT tranny probs are caused by overheated fluid(ATF).
