Windsheild wiper problems.

Hey guys, I've been posting a lot in this section, I suppose I'm running into a lot of problems.. Anyways, on to my question.

Since I've had my Wagon the windshield wipers would always hit the side of the windshield plastic, and the go down and hit the plastic at the bottom. It didn't matter how much I adjusted it, the windshield wipers would always hit.
(the wipers always had a lot of play in them)

So I took the plastic off from the bottom of the window to see if the wiper arms had any type of adjustment to them. Well it turns out that they don't. So we started looking, and where the wiper arm connects to the wiper motor, there is a little white plastic snap in piece that holds the wiper arm on the ball of the wiper motor. Now, it had a lot of play in it, so Dad started popped the little plastic piece off the wiper motor. (of course it had to fall inside the body, never to be found again)

But anyways, the arms and the motor looks alright, nothing looks worn. So we think it had to do with that little plastic piece being worn out.

My question is:
Where can I find one of these, and does anyone know what I'm talking about?

I looked around for a little bit on Majestic Honda, and their site is just confusing.

Does anyone know what the proper term is for that little white plastic holder do-hickey?

I think thats about it, thanks.

    :? I think this is the 1:
    76524-SE0-013
    It's $3 @ Honda

Or get it at the junkyard.

Since u got everything out.Why not MONO Wiper it. 8)
  • Becuase I've never heard of MONO wipering it. I figure it means to only use one wiper, but how do I go about doing this?

Don't bother it puts extra strain on your wiper motor and is pretty much for looks. When its raining you won't be able to see out of all of the windscreen either.

:? There's less drag on the wiper motor from the removal of the passenger wiper control arm ,wiper blade & wiper arm.You save $$$ on wipers, there less wind drag, looks cleaner, lightens the Wgn & loss of view is minimal.

You'll save three bucks a year on a wiper blade for 0.0009% wind reduction and reduced visibility when raining (even worse in a heavy downpour). It will put more strain on the wiper motor as the one motor has to move about 1/3 more water than it is designed to. You'll have a blind spot when raining which is dangerous as hell. If it doesn't ever rain in your area then do it.

But hey, what would Honda know? They only spend billions in research..

The amount of water removed is about the same. The blind spot you refer to is dangerous if a Boeing 747 is coming at you from 2 o'clock high or a car is coming at you from 10 feet off the ground.

Try some '"Rain-X".This stuff's GREAT!I've gone down the throughway @ 70mph & the rain just beads off(didn't even have the wipers on).Puts less strain on the wiper motor too.The silcone or graphite wipers(Bosch) seem to be low drag too.

That statement has nothing to do with this.If it did why did you question Honda's wisedom when you changed over to DOT4,added the earth grounding, put in the oil catch can,PM7,NGK Iridium spark plugs ,etc.

Well Kauhna,a lot of CRX's, Civic's & Mercede's run the MONO wiper. There you have it point & counter pointAsk other CRX owners(Civic's too)..Sorry Pacifier didn't mean to be doggin you.

You'll never get me to agree with those statements so lets just agree to disagree.

    And re this:

DOT4 fluid is standard. Earth grounding and oil catch can are the same as used in BTCC race civics, the PM7 corresponds with the engine and the NGK iridiums are recommended by Honda as a better option than the standard NGK plugs.

Kahuna: its really up to you which way you go, but it would seem your wiper motor unit has flaws and would either need to be replaced OR removed and modified as SiWagon said.
  • SiWagonSiWagon Council Member
:? Kahuna just needs that little plastic piece. There's tons of thoses pieces in the junkyard.Kahuna's wiper motor is not flawed or in need of replacement or repair.
