Weight of stripped RT?

I put my little piggy up on the scales this past summer and with me in it I think it came in at 2508 (?). I'm wondering how much weight we can lose if we start really shedding pieces, or replacing with light weight stuff.

    ask jaker what his weighs.
  • Id say something around 200 to 300 pounds max.
  • I've gone to great lengths for weight reduction, but I have a rules set that I have to follow. Obviously I have no drive to the front wheels, but with a full tank of gas and all the stuff that I listed in the WOTM thread, I'm sitting at 2,240 lbs (no driver). My wheels and tires would probably be a bunch heavier than what you're running because of their size. I'm also carrying about 20-25 lbs of extra weight for the supercharger. If I was just looking to get it as light as possible, I think it'd be pretty easy to get it down to 2,150-2,175 with drive to the front wheels.

Just be aware that when I started autocrossing my Wagon (I did a couple events in 2008 before it went under the RWD knife), I quickly discovered that the design of the fuel tank (saddle tank) prevented me from running it with anything less than about 3/4 of a tank of fuel. Anything less and it starved massively in the corners. I'm seriously considering either doing some pretty substantial internal baffling of the OEM tank, or making a surge tank with a 2nd fuel pump.
  • Jaker, seeing that you run your wagon in competitions, why not remove the oem tank and run a proper fuel-cell?
