Should I buy this Civic Wagon?

Hello!

I am newbie here and looking for wagon.

I saw one near my town. It is 89 brown civic wagon fwd. but it has severe rust on both rear quater sides and interior has a lot of scratches by animal. Seat belts are torn but repaired with duck tape. torn seat cover. missing shift console. ..

Exterior and interior condition are not good but the good thing is the mileage, 89000 automatic with original engine.

Price is $3000. A dealer said if I pay for it, then he can take care of the rust that will cost $300-$400.

Should I buy this if a dear repairs rust on quater pannel and can I replace all bad interior part by myself?

Thanks

  • Not sure of your location, but it still seems a bit steep to me. It is a dealer afterall.

I'm gonna be honest, unless that thing has like 12,000 miles on it, it seems like a bit ridiculous of a price.
  • 3000 for a wagon with rust? I would stay clear of the wagon. Some guys on here pay decent money for the RT4wd, but a FWD, with rust and a jacked up interior isn't worth anything close to what he is asking. I would keep looking because there are guys on here who have been patient, and their patience rewarded.

Oh hell no. I paid 1800 for my RT with 220k miles with no cancer and almost zero rust. Body and interior aren't perfect but reasonable for the age and mileage of the car.

3K for a beat cancerous fwd wagon is a HUUUGE rip off, there's a reason they call them stealerships.

I hate Dealers.. The mileage seems decent (but consider, the mileage can be fudged). But that's too much for RIPS, RUST & DUCT TAPE.. If you're willing to spend 3k on a wagon, shop around.. It may take a while, but I guarantee you will find really nice one!!

FYI- I bought mine for $500.. Minor dings, no rust, clean int, faded paint, needed head gasket.. It wasn't perfect but it was exactly what I was looking for (quality > price)

$3k is a bit much for that wagon even if the rust is repaired. Although the mileage is low, it doesn't guarantee that the motor is in great shape. Shop around for a better deal and come back to the dealer if you can't find one. I have a feeling it'll still be there.

I know where there is a pretty clean one in FL.. For $2000.. Search the south. You'll get a better wagon at a better price.

Thanks! I found one in Everett, OR but I live in PA. Do I need to fly up there and take it back to PA if I buy it? It will take a week to drive it to PA. Any better idea?

    THanks
  • dont doooiiiitttt. es no bueno. 3g is wayyy to high. especially for the problems. patience is a virtue... so is spelling but 1 out of 2 isnt bad.
