BLING! 8) BLING! Exhaust tips for around $12.($5 or less if you use the OEM tip instead of the reducer).
I didn't like the OEM tips.So when I unbolted the tips I saw this: :?
So this project started. Why pay as much as $7O.OO for each tip.You could make a set & know it's going to be RARE and look CUSTOMIZED.
Finding the tip(s):They're Martini Shakers. They can be found in Mass Discounters like Big Lots or Ross. They're Stainless and $5 for a set of 2.Larger 1's cost more & you only get 1.Bring a magnet.Good stainless is non-magnetic.304 stainless is good.2 different 1's are shown below. The 1's I got are 1.75"(45mm inlet) & 2.75" (70mm outlet).I think the lower one is 3.5"(90mm).
Tools needed:
1)1/8" or5/32" drill bit & Drill
2)Tin snip(shown below)
3)Pop Riveter(or sheet metal screws will do.
4)Hack Saw
5)Hi-Temp Spray Paint
6) Rough sand paper(60-100 grit)
Materials needed:
1)Exhaust pipe REDUCER(S)(auto parts store or muffler shop)
Aluminized or stainless are nice.Your call.1 for each tip.
2)3-12 1/8" washers
3)Hi temp Silicone.
Construction:
Drill a few holes in the bottom of the Martini Shaker to allow the Tin Snip to start.Start the cut.Cut towards the edge up the side a little, then around the whole shaker bottom.Look @ the above pic of the shaker. You'll see a line at the bottom of the longer shaker. The cut piece should look like a lid.
Now drop in the Reducer.Drill 3 holes around the edges where the reducer overlaps the tip for the pop rivets or screws.Attach the Reducer to the tip.You may need the washers to fill the gap(if any) between the Reducer & tip.Silcone the gap if any.Now mask & Paint the Reducer with Hi-Temp Paint. If you used Aluminized or Stainless Reducers you don't need to paint.Repeat for second tip if needed.
Assembly:
Slide tip onto muffler to figure out where to cut.Leave a extra 3/4"-1"(19-25mm) for attaching the tip.Things to check for like How close to the bumper cut-out is the tip?How far you want the tip to stick out back?
If you look @ the pic below. You''ll see I put a washer in to fill the gap.Sand some or all the rust off the old pipe(s).I was lazy.Still left some rust.Drill the final 3 holes to attach the tip(s) to the pipe.
BELOW: I used a long stick to silcone the gaps in the inside of the tips.Fingers were too short & big.
BELOW: All done.L 8) 8)KS sharp!
BELOW:Back on to the Wagon. How's it look???
BELOW:B4 & After
BELOW:OEM Tip(How 95gainfla's Wagon might look like.)& After

It doesn't look half bad. Perhaps a "results may vary" disclaimer would be appropriate because there's nothing like a pair of cockeyed exhaust tips to impress your buddies.
I agree with Davens though, I am not sure how others will do with this modification. Sometimes others interpret instructions differently & in return get diffeent results. Ya know 1 thing, I will never look at Martini shakers the same way again & YA MAKE ME WANNA FIND THESE PARTS TO DIY!!!
I really like the personality you're wagon has. Its definately a standout and NOT an eyesore.
Looks good with the blackout, the wing and the Si badge.
yep thats about all thats in there at the moment... :P
Look at my 2nd pic. These might be hard to find. These I got from Costco, but only at the "Business Center Costco's". Regular Costco members are allowed in.The G D News is the lower COcktail Shaker is only $1.69 ea(Costco #20955) and the 1 in the upper rite corner cost more @ $8.99ea.(costco # 634035).These #'s don't work on the regular Costco website. Some specs are above pic. These are also larger than what I used ,however would look good for a single outlet.
