Pockets in rear seatbacks?

I wouldn't even know they were there except my new seatcovers have openings for them.
There are tight little pockets in the rear seatbacks (60/40 seats), just big enough to stick your hand in. They don't seem to be suitable for storage (too small and tight) and I can't find that they are access for anything. What the hell are they?

Enquiring minds want to know.

You put the seat belt latches in them so they don't get stuck under the seat when you fold them down or something like that.
  • Thank you! My belts are always under the seats anyway. I'll sleep better now.

no prob. What kind of covers did you get? i ordered some a while back of custom made, they seem to be holding up pretty good. I also ordered some floor mats but haven't had too good of luck yet, They are working on the drivers mat for the third time, The new attempt is supposed to come in tomorrow. Maybe they got it right. lol! they don't seem to mind to keep trying.

    no?

  • I bought them off eBay

Gray twill fabric. First set was for the front of my 88 RT, perfect fit, really nice. Second sets were for front and back of my 91 RT, slightly differently made, fit not quite as perfect. They are made to order in Costa Rica, they may be using more than one source. The spacing on the front headrest openings was about an inch too wide causing some puckering. The rear covers have velcro on the back intended to adhere to the carpet, but it doesn't. Still trying to work out something. Some other details on the second sets (use of elastic instead of velcro) were not as effective as the first set. May do some modifications myself. Still, all in all, I am happy.

Second mat fit like a glove but... The person making this one must have had a rough night. They made it backasswards.

Third mat fits like a glove. Its a little gathered by the gas pedal but i think a little heat from the sun and its going to flatten right on out. Anyway its a keeper.

I did exact-fit too. I know what you mean on the head rests. Other than that I'm happy with them. More happy with the fact that if I find a good drivers seat I can go back stock.
Sorry about jacking your thread with the floor mats. lol!
