having some troubles on my obd1 conversion

okay guys tonight i went to put my obd1 dizzy in and its not working. first off i noticed the mounts were totally different so to correct for this i set the motor at TDC then pointed the rotor to the plug wire going to cylinder number 1. it fired maybe 3-4 times but never actually started and never even fired off again. im not new to working on hondas but i have to admit ive never realy delt with d-series motors ive always had B's but im always game for learning more.

heres the dizzys

and one more question WTF is this thing mounted next to my map sensor? can i just get rid of it by unhooking it and plugging off the vacume lines hooked to it?

    hrm.

You have a vacuum setup that i've never seen before but that may just be because i've never actually physically worked on a USDM motor. Usually there is two hoses there, one for the MAP sensor and one for the charcoal canister.

You're 100% sure you got the timing right?

ya im 100% sure i got it right. iono im gunna mess with it tomarrow a lil bit and see what happens. i may go get the head that matches the new dizzy i have that way i can re-grind the valves, put a new headgasket on, and put in some ARP head studs. as for all of that shit that all those vaccume lines are going into im gunna un hook it and see if it triggers a CEL if not screw it im gunna take it and the charcoal cannister out as well.
