'87 rt4wd - rough idle, dies when cold

I recently purchased an '87 rt4wd. She has a slightly rough idle, and when she's cold she needs gas to keep from dying. I ran some fuel system cleaner additive called "guaranteed to pass" in this tank of gas which I'm now 3/4 of the way through, but it didn't seem to have any effect.

I purchased seafoam, a air filter, oil and oil filter, but I'm waiting to finish the tank of "guaranteed to pass" before I perform any of this.

I have to smog her in california within 60 days.

Any advice?

    Perhaps your carb is bad. Otherwise play with the a/f screw(s?).

    Do a tuneup (plugs, wires, cap, rotor).

    Check timing.

    Cleaned the Carb replaced air filter. Car idles a lot smoother now. Does not die when cold anymore.
    Tried to change oil but couldn't get the nut off.. maybe im a wimp
    While I was down there I noticed her right cv boot needs replacement.
