Pedal assembly question

after reading posts about the pedal assembly cracking. I figured mine was toast too. I read a sedan bracket is different, so I'm wondering if the bracket is wagon specific? Or will a crx/civic hatch one fit? Not really sure if this one is repairable, so I'm looking around for another. I will find out if my friend can save this one tomorrow or next week depending on his schedule. I know I can go look at the yards, but I really don't want to take another out. I'm already wondering how I'm going to get this one back in. here are some pics of the one out of my wagon. let me know what you guys think

    re-weld, and carry on....
    I'm sorry, i just threw away a del sol pedal conglomeration; i'd have friggen donated that thing in the pursuit of wagonism.

    I think I read they're wagon specific. I fixed mine by welding a re-enforcement plate to the back and welding up the cracks. It makes the pedal set sit a little thicker on the mounting bolts though, but it workes for me. The clutch still groans now and then. :roll:

    Yes, the pedal assembly is wagon-specific. That one doesn't look too bad, just put everything back in place and re-weld it, adding a bead to bridge from the clutch pedal shaft to the face of the bracket. I've repaired several this way, and now always reinforce even unbroken ones as a preventive measure.

    thanks for the info fellas. I dropped it off with my friend to re-weld. said no problem. can't wait to drive it again. maybe even make it out to a local meet.

    Honda revised the part at one point, and the new pedal brackets you buy from them have a reinforcement welded on. I bought a new bracket probably 10 years ago to replace my cracked one, and it was reinforced.

    well got my bracket back from my friend scotty. he stitched it up and added a gusset for bracing. anyways wanted to show you guys how it turned out. should be good for another 200k. what a night and day difference. drives like it should. really stoked it get it done, but now my back is killing me. lol
