DIY clutch install/tranny removal

This is a DIY my car college club made for an EK SOHC D16 but I figure it will help some of us. a lot of the work is similar

click on the pictures there are comments describing what they are doing.

it is not realyl all that hard. you have to remove suspension (if you are on stock suspension) remove the header and axles. it involves removing all but one engine mount and shaking the tranny off.

  • no need to touch the exhaust when dropping the tranny...........

Bone, do you put a block under the motor to support it when you pull the trans?
  • nope, I have a piece of nylon rope tied to the rafters with a loop on the end, slide the loop over the top dist. bolt.

The engine will tilt a little, but this helps (esp 88-91's!) to get the tranny in/out.......
