Car Has a Vib About it

Hello all,
A little back ground about the car 88 RTAWD 189,400 miles. Car runs great in all other aspects it just that at about 50 to 60 mph there is a vibe that feels like it is coming from the front area, by front I mean the front axels, transmission area. Does not matter if clutch is in or out. If speed up or slow down vibe goes away. I ttok it last weekend to have the transmission and rear diff flushed and refilled. "Not related to this but just scheduled maintenance." And yes I get the dumb look from the service guys when I tell them its AWD and agasin when they learn its a 6spd. Anyway gas mileage is about 26 to 29 on the hwy.
Possible solutions
1. New rubber bushings for the front all the way around?
2. Replace the U joints on the drive shaft?
Any good advise will be accepted for free. Bad advice there will be a small nominal fee involed. :D

    Can't believe no 1 answered.
It's probably a out of balance tire.Just swap the problem wheel/tire to the rear & if vib goes away...rebalance the bad tire.
  • good answer.

sometimes if you aftermarket wheels, centering hub cures the problem.
  • I have the same problem. I had some 13 inch steelies and it was a pretty bad vibration hitting 50 and a little on 70 and I switched wheels to some 14 inch bmw bottlecaps and I still had a slight vibration during 50 but it was almost unnoticeable.
  • BMW wheels have big bore hubs order some centering rings.
    Good luck.

if this helped the problem, then that must be the problem lol. just get the bottlecaps balanced at shop and you should be golden
  • My car started vibrating too a while back, had the wheels balanced and made it much better but not fixed! A month goes by vibration gets pretty bad, and before I get to the shop u joint breaks, drive shaft nearly catapults me off the freeway. I'd check the u joints first!
  • I had the same issue. Just out of balance wheels.
