Love the Wagon, I have a 89 almost like yours. I bought mine a fews month ago. It seems like everything you do to your I want to do to mine. Can't wait to see what you do next. Keep up the good work, you and your son.
So… it's been about 10 months since I got the bullbar in the mail. That led to the paint before I could mount it up. Once mounted, the fog lights were a "I'll get around to that soon" thing. Here it is February and I still haven't wired them up. Mostly attributed to laziness and the fact that I really don't like wiring. However, yesterday I was at my buddy's house for a party. While standing out in the driveway discussing all things manly over a cold brew, he ask if I was ever going to wire those things up? So today, it was actually nice outside. I got out and started on the process. Got everything grounded and got the power wire run. Then it got dark on me. Still got to put in a fuse and go through the firewall to the switch, but I put them to the battery just to see. Yay! Lights! Guess I'll get around to the switch "sometime"
And yes.. I know, my valve cover needs painting again.
Contacted Prennro and had him make this custom high mileage decal to commemorate my mark.
Wagon is filthy from all the snow, but I couldn't wait to put it on!
dig the sticker, put one on my car a few weeks back, but the more common one I've seen around the internets, works for me, thinking I might do a 300K one next year sometime since I'm already past the 260K mark. Regardless, dig the sticker and congrats!
Finished wiring the PIAAs today! Came out nice and clean. Used a defrost switch out of my box of junkyard switches. Same as I used for my amber fogs except this one has a neat little indicator light to show when they are on - low and behold I took the time to wire that too. Now I have two defroster fog switches. I put a black piece of tape over the new one's defrost logo for now.
Looks like I'll have to wire the other one's indicator now.
Old news to those who follow me on instagram and Facebook, but I took the Boy Scouts up to West Virginia over the weekend to do some skiing/snowboarding. About a 350 mile round trip. I'm not much of a lead foot and usually baby the wagon on the hwy, but my caravan saw fit to run 85-90 most of the trip. The old girl hung right in there even in the mountains! It was nice to actually put some boards on the rack. I had fun, boys had a blast and wagon did fantastic. Saw some snow and she got quite nasty!! No need to wash though, expecting snow here in NC in a couple of days. Calling for 6-8 inches which is a BFD here. I know most of you laugh at that amount, but I'm stoked. Major winter storm for us ole' redneck boys!
90 mph through the hills of WV, loaded down with boys, gear, and boards still averaged 26.4 MPG. Not too shabby! Go Wagon!!
OK - Major NC winter storm here. 6" so far and dumping hard. Got some Wagon pics in the snow!
Started when work let out three hours early before the storm hit. Getting paid do go home early rocks! Love working for Honda!
Here is the line leaving work. Ridiculous, never had to wait to get out of our parking lot!
Starting to come down!
About an hour and a half in!
This one is from last week.
Yes I went out and played in it right after these pics. Had a blast!
All that winter weather made for a dirty girl. So this weekend I thought I'd take advantage of the beautiful weather and detail the wagon real nice. Royal treatment so to speak. Also did the same to the wife's Element. It was in dire need as well. Couple of beautiful Hondas right there.
Also found a sticker in the office that was begging to go on the wagon.
Along with all this my driver's side speaker quit working a few weeks ago, the passenger one was blown and my tweeters haven't wort in like two years. Ashamed I was since my old Si had an
awesome high end alpine setup with subs and the whole 9. Knew I'd never want subs for the wagon, but my lack of decent audio was miserable and embarrassing. Luckily I was rummaging around
in the garage and found a set of really nice Boston speakers that I had got off my dad long ago and they were stashed away and forgot about. SCORE!! they were nasty! but a quick wipe down
and I popped those suckers in. Gave my son a quick soldering lesson and we wired up the tweeters too. All of 15 minuets and $0 and my car sounds AMAZING!! Wish I had not been so lazy and
done this long ago. Can't wait to jam out on the way to work in the morning!
Another small ice event in NC today led to disaster on the way to work this morning. VW beetle slid in to me at the stoplight. Low speed but still could have been much worse. His beetle did not fair so well. It put a big hole in is plastic bumper and knocked out his parking light. It didn't even knock my bumper cover loose. I'm still pissed. I'll have to clean it up real good and see what the paint damage looks like. Bumper may need a respray.
Haven't buffed on it. I washed the car yesterday for the first time since it happened. With all the bad weather we've had around, there has just not been a chance. Plus I've been working a lot of overtime hand just not had a chance to fool with it. Think the red paint will buff off pretty well. The clear and gold on my car is cracked. Has that checkerboard appearance. It's not too bad though. I think I'll be better off leaving it be than trying to match it up. I might can live with. I'll at least try. No hurry, no worry.
How did you pop the speaker grill off? MY drivers speaker hasn't worked since the fall. Finally took the door panel off to get at the speaker because I couldn't seem to find a way to take the grill off.

Thanks! Don't know what my show schedule entails this year yet, but I'd like to make it up there again. Always down to meet up sometime!
