Ragenasian's new toy (not a wagon so beware)

So I have been looking for a new toy. Found out the UK can import Japanese spec cars (gray market imports). My wife and I were looking for 4wd and family all rolled into one. They were too expensive here in Germany so I had somebody pick one up for me (will never do this again, do not like not seeing the car before I buy). It is a 1995 Mitsubishi Delica with a 2.8 turbo diesel from Japan. Was suppose to be delivered at midnight, but the truck broke down in Belgium. 7 hours later it was in my garage spewing oil and diesel fuel. Won't take a lot of money to fix just a lot of time but it is freaking awesome. A lifted minivan based on the Mitsubishi PAjero chassis. This thing rocks and has the ground clearance to go anywhere. So again the wagon is put on hold until I can get this thing leak free. Can't wait till it snows!!!!!
Has the crystal lite roof on it. All four have auto blinds. Two middle captain chairs swivel and as you can see the rear two fold up for more cargo space.
Three mountain dew cans with room to spare
Two piece JDM wheels that are getting removed, new rims and tires installed until I can get these refinished.

But I am now convinced you will never finish your wagon lol
so roomy and old school
 Jealous!
Dude thats new as, they looked like that up till like 1999. Toyota Hiace Supercustom (means its the luxury passenger version not tradesman version)
Those Delica's amuse me a great deal, my parents had a 2.5L 2wd one briefly but it was, for lack of a better word, retarded.
My uncle and auntie are into offroading in a big way (have a Suzuki SJ410 with 3.8 buick V6, 38" tyres etc) had a friend with one like yours who decided it was a good idea to take on a offroad trek.......it fell over.......his wife didnt know he took it...........she wasnt impressed....
HA HA. Yeah since it is tall and skinny I am sure it is tip over prone, but I don't plan on any crazy offroading adventures. Just want to make sure if it snows or gets a little crazy I can get home, maybe even take the grassy detour . When I was in Japan they were lifting these things do ridiculous heights with monster tires and going to parks where they could offroad them and drown them in lakes with their snorkels.
I got it all cleaned up today and found where the leaks are coming from so it will soon be road worthy. Definitely fun to drive as you sit higher than just about everything on the road. We stopped next to a bus and looked down on the bus driver, my buddy and I had a pretty good laugh. Everybody came out to look at this odd looking thing too.
Don't worry we feel the same way, but come winter time it won't matter what it looks like
JDM Pajero/Montero = WAY COOLER!
I've owned a Montero that my dad purchased new in '91. It had a lift and some bigger wheel/tires and that truck could go anywhere. The automatic trans was geared like a tractor.
But just like the Delica it was a box on wheels that felt like it could tip at any moment. Top speed was like 75 maybe.
One of my future projects: Mitsu GTO VR4 engine into a Montero. Twin turbo offroader might be fun...
Sidenote: I'm jealous :P
I bet! Must be nice living in countries where lawyers don't make things more difficult and expensive because of some idiot. When searching for parts I found sites in Austraila, UK, Canada, NZ, and only dreamers in the US. Good thing I can register any car I so choose as long as it is from a NATO country.
It is all torn down just waiting for the new parts. The only good thing about getting cars that require work is having the excuse to buy new tools to fix them. I don't think I needed a plasma cutter to fix the rear main seal, or the diesel pump, but the wife doesn't know (SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH don't tell her)
7 hours of cleaning to get the interior into some kind of long term sitting condition (was pretty dirty)
Starting taking apart the 3 piece wheels and refurbishing them.
Super Jet Black and blue flake to go with the surfer paint theme.
2 inch lift hopefully coming soon with new rancho XL shocks.
Used the plasma cutter to fab up a new thicker heat shield.
Dual exhaust Not pretty but it works
Here it is back together.
No worries we don't really know what to think yet either nor does anyone else. It is definitely different and gets some crazy looks.
Still a ways to go
I would quite like a much older version converted into a camper van like this
