White smoke from dohc zc.!!!! NOT HEAD GASKET?????

the motor smoked bad on start up and hesitated to run then cleared out and ran fine, i changed the head gasket and now it starts with no white smoke but as it runs and warms up it starts to smoke again but still runs fine... could it be the intake gasket?? the old head gasket didnt look to bad also...

  • You might have a leaky valve seat. A common problem on honda motors.

What ECU? Mine 'smoked' bad and ran kinda fine once it was warm on the PM6.

I changed to PM7 and its been mint ever since, runs fine both cold and warm and only 'smokes' when i really give it shit.
  • i swaped the pm6 for the dual cam zc ecu.. wouldnt a leaky valve seat smoke blue for oil tho.. its white like water...and also ca i use a 89 integra power steering pump for the zc?? i also dont have the zc braket so can i use the 89 integ bracket also?
  • When I had leaky valve seat on my EF hatch it was smoking white. I thought it was HG, got it changed and still was having the same problem. Thru word of mouth and different forums I found out about valve seats. Once I changed them it stopped smoking. BTW my EF ran fine actually ran strong till it warmed up, then it started to smoke. It never overheated or anything, the highest the temp gauge went was 1/4 till hot.

Also, from what I have read on other forums, rule of thumb is to use 90-91 civic/crx SI parts and 88-89 integra internal parts. Here is a link to a forum that I goto for my ZC questions.
