B18a or stay sohc?

just wanna get other peoples opinion on this subject.i have a 90 integra the whole car so just wondering what you guys would do in my situation. If i stay sohc i would have to find a si motor or do a mini me swap. Not concerned about drag racing so the power difference wouldn't matter to me.

    If boost:

    If N/A:

    B18A

N/A D series can be fun, but that usually requires a bunch of money and unless you're doing that just to prove you can with a sohc it would be cheaper in the long run to just throw in a stock B18A and have a nice quick DD.

Unless you can fab yourself some mounts, you'll need an EF B series aftermarket mount kit of some sort (Hasport, Innovative, etc...).

Do a swap. B18 all the way
  • It would be nice to have the extra torque of a 1.8L

I bought my Wagon only because I had the intention of swapping a B18 in it. I bought the Wagon and an Integra the same day and parted out the Teg :)
  • My old LS wagon was legit, full exhaust with a n1 spoon axle back, hasport mounts, b16 cable tranny, that thing pulled hard.

If I was you I'd do LS, but convert that shit to obd1, obd0 sucks balls
  • can i still retain the AC if i swap a b18 or b20? if so, how?

It had been one day, the thread was at the top of the page, a bump wasnt needed
  • Damn no D love in here lol. I say stay D or boosted D. I've built a 150whp NA D for less than a full B swap. Well that is unti i added the bisi header lol.

D Series are cheap, but in order to make power you will need to swap from the stock wagon’s d15b2 to either a d16a6, or for best results a d16z6. Both of which unless built will not get you more then 120hp. If you are going to boost it; which you already said you are not; stay D series the engines are way cheaper for when you blow them up.

But if staying N/A go with the b18. And if you ever feel like you need a little more pep, then you always have the option of adding a Vtec head to the motor and going LS/Vtec.

    Cliff Notes:
-Stay D series if boosting, since they are so cheap
-Go b18 if just want reliable DD, can always add Vtec head later for more power.

I got some B series EF mounts for sale if you decide to go B series for your wagon. PM me if you want them.
