Motor swap

I just bought a 83 civic wagon w a 1500 motor. What is this motor? how hard is it to put in a 1500 injected motor into this car from an 89 wagovan. The original motor won't keep up to traffic- runs good but many miles. Can the orig motor be "hopped up"
What do you do for cpu and wiring for the 89 motor?
Thank You
I know this is a big subject. Point me in the right direction

I've seen this type of swap done on other forums and it's pretty involved. You'll need to fabricate new motor mounts and such and it's not really do it yourself project unless you are experienced in fabrication and the like. If you're looking for more power, you'd be better off putting in a 1.8 motor out of I think an 81-85 Accord. It's almost a straight bolt in and provides a lot more power. The little 1.5 in the 80-83 series just flat out doesn't have many options for upping performance. You can add on a Weber carb and boost the spark a little, but that's about it. Unless you tear down the engine and rebuild it for racing, including a custom cut cam that would probably cost you more than the car is worth. I don't even think there are any headers made for this engine because the exhaust and intake manifold are one in the same.
